We value everyone’s gifts. Students learn to understand and identify Howard Gardner’s eight multiple intelligences—musical, verbal/linguistic, spatial, bodily/kinesthetic, mathematical/logical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist). The intelligences are incorporated into the lessons and projects that the students do throughout the curriculum. The goal for students is to understand these main points:
1. Human beings possess all of the intelligences in some form.
2. Humans can grow in all of the intelligences and that their capacities can change over time.
3. All of the intelligences can be used to express what they have learned.
4. The multiple intelligences are meant to empower, not limit or label people.
